Athletics

Our athletic program fosters leadership skills, self-confidence, and commitment to others. Through practice, training, and competition, our students gain a strong appreciation for teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance.

Our Athletic Programs

KARATE

Here at The New LIFE School, our students can join our karate team. Our karate team consists of two varying styles of martial arts defined below.

Carla Lee Rice is a first-degree black belt from the Japanese Karate-Do Academy, which teaches
traditional karate from the Goju-ryu. She has been studying karate since 1996 and has been teaching
karate since 2012. She is also a licensed clinical social worker, who recognizes the benefits of traditional karate in the teaching discipline, focus, self-awareness, and self-control. Her classes integrate the value of breathing and meditation with rigorous exercise as a path toward developing students’ strengths and confidence. The Karate community is based on respect and that value provides a foundation for all that we do.

A Word From Our Principal

The new life school principal

Dear Family & Friends,

I am honored to be the principal and Executive Director here at The New LIFE School. Our staff is committed to providing our students with an excellent education that will prepare them for life beyond the schoolhouse. We pride ourselves on being a school community that fosters a strong sense of self and community, where everyone is valued, appreciated, and embraced. Here at TNLS we strive to develop leaders.

As we continue to support our students in meeting the demands of the Common Core Learning Standards, we will continue implementing researched based programs that will best serve our students. In addition, we are committed to embracing PBIS as we encourage our students to do their best every day.

We welcome you to visit us and become involved. It takes a village to raise our students so let’s do it together.

See you soon,

Christine Amodeo
