Intensive Behavioral Program

The Intensive Behavioral Program focuses on students who are demonstrating difficulty within the classroom environment. Through classroom observations of student’s interactions with peers and staff, collection of behavioral data and discussion with the student’s social worker, the Intensive Behavioral Therapist assesses the student’s current functioning and creates a better understanding of the reasons behind the student’s negative behavioral choices. The therapist meets with the student multiple times per week to address specific behaviors and to increase the student’s motivation to make positive changes in his or her life. The therapist works with the staff to create a more conducive and supportive educational environment for the student.
